Procurement Manager

Reports to: Vice President – Procurement

Job description:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Procurement Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s procurement activities in new commodities, ensuring that all materials and products are sourced and purchased at the most competitive prices, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, lead, and execute procurement strategies across all categories of spend.
  • Manage the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and quality.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their current and anticipated procurement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the procurement team.

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Wood Science, Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related fields.
  • 5+ years of experience in procurement, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
