Procurement Associate

Reports to: Procurement Manager(s)

 

Job description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Associate to join our team. The successful candidate will support the Procurement Manager in managing the company’s procurement activities, ensuring that all materials and products are sourced and purchased at competitive prices while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in developing and executing procurement strategies across various categories of spend.
  • Support the procurement process, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and performance evaluation.
  • Help establish and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and quality.
  • Conduct market research to identify new suppliers and products.
  • Collaborate with other departments to understand their current and anticipated procurement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Provide support and assistance to the procurement team as needed.

Suggested Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Wood Science, Agriculture, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related fields.
  • 1-3 years of experience in procurement or a related field.
  • Basic negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
